Welcome to UPE @ Allegheny College!
Recognizing academic excellence in the information and computing disciplines since 2025
First Initiation Ceremony
We are the Allegheny College chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE), the international honor society for the computing and information disciplines. Our chapter brings together students who are passionate about technology, design, and innovation, and who strive to grow as leaders and collaborators. We value curiosity, inclusivity, and the pursuit of excellence in academics and beyond.
Our chapter was founded to connect Allegheny students with the global UPE community. It began with a small group of students and faculty who wanted to highlight achievement in computing, foster community among majors, and provide professional development opportunities. Since then, the chapter has grown steadily and has become an important part of student life in the Computer and Information Science department.
We host events, workshops, and networking opportunities that allow students to expand their skills and connect with peers. From coding nights and resume workshops to guest lectures and social events, our activities are designed to support both academic and personal growth. We also collaborate with other student organizations, contribute to service projects, and recognize excellence through induction ceremonies.
To become a member of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society at Allegheny College, eligible students are invited via email each academic year during the spring semester.
